With a passion for avant-garde apparel and a commitment to our industry’s best practices, we uphold the highest quality standards to bring conscious and contemporary design to life.
Our Story: ACID NYC
ACID NYC was founded and launched by the New York City born and bred design team of Evelyn Luna & Scott Chester in March 2014. They have since debuted a number of their contemporary fashion collections at numerous New York Fashion Week Shows.
Their signature designs are ethically made in New York City’s Garment District. ACID NYC creates modern silhouettes designed with limited edition, unique & vibrant prints for Women and Men that can be worn from day to evening.
“We find our inspiration in the hidden beauty of our surroundings and then present them on the runway as museum quality prints on beautifully tailored garments.” The ACID NYC clothing collections have garnered positive press throughout the US fashion industry and in international press.
Evelyn Luna
Evelyn Luna was born in the Bronx, New York City. She studied at the High School of Art & Design and received her BFA at New York’s Parsons School of Design. For 13 years, she was a key member of Diane Von Furstenberg’s original design staff that re-launched the DVF brand and its myriad of successful designs. She subsequently became Director of DVF’s Textile Department in addition to her position as Head Designer.
In 2003, she ventured on to become Textile Product Manager at Victoria’s Secret Lingerie, Sleepwear and Swimwear. Eventually, Evelyn applied her expert knowledge of fashion, textile design and production and began her own Design Consulting business. Evelyn has consulted for DVF, Victoria’s Secret Lingerie and Swimwear as well as other fashion designers and home furnishing brands.
Scott Chester
New York City native, Scott Chester was born in Brooklyn. He studied at the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan where he solidified his interest in Industrial Design. Scott continued honing his talents and skills at CCS College of Industrial Design in Detroit, Pratt Institute for Product Design, and the Art Center in Pasadena California.
In 1990 Scott started ACID Studios in Brooklyn, NY, to design custom furniture. This was the beginning of Arielle Chester Industrial Design (ACID) named after his daughter.
Scott, a successful serial entrepreneur, joined forces with Jon Drew and Marvin Samel in 1998 to develop ACID Cigars, a premium, hand-rolled Cigar brand manufactured in Nicaragua. The startup became a sought after boutique brand that was purchased in 2014 by Swisher International.
Evelyn Luna & Scott Chester’s combined creative and technical talents is the DNA of ACID NYC Clothing: spanning industrial design, engineering, manufacturing, textile design, graffiti, photography, painting and gardening. With their range of skills, it’s easy to see why the designers envision ACID NYC as ultimately a luxury lifestyle brand.
